    NEPSE Drops Nearly 20 Points; Daily Turnover Reaches Rs 4.61 Billion

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined by 19.67 points on Thursday, extending its losing streak, while daily trading turnover stood at Rs 4.61 billion.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Thursday, falling 19.67 points (0.75%) to close at 2,601.92, following a 30.09-point decline in the previous trading session. The benchmark index opened at 2,619.78, touched an intraday high of 2,620.87, and slipped to a low of 2,595.76 before settling at the day's close. Investor activity remained moderate, with a total turnover of Rs 4.61 billion generated from the trading of 8.75 million shares of 361 listed companies through 57,864 transactions. The market's total capitalization stood at Rs 44.70 trillion, while the float market capitalization reached Rs 15.09 trillion. Among individual securities, Global IME Bank Limited Debenture 2086/87 (GBILD86/87) recorded the highest turnover at Rs 355.8 million, closing at Rs 1,119 per unit. Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) emerged as the day's top gainer, surging 12.68% to Rs 3,200, while BOK Debenture 2086 "KA" (BOKD86KA) was the biggest loser, declining 8.66% to Rs 1,139. Sector-wise, the Trading Index posted the steepest decline of 2.36%, whereas the Others Index recorded the smallest loss, edging down 0.18%.
