After Meeting Industrialists and Energy Leaders, PM Balen Shah Holds Talks with Women Entrepreneurs

After holding separate meetings with industrialists, energy entrepreneurs, and construction business leaders, Prime Minister Balen Shah is continuing his consultations with the private sector by meeting representatives of the Federation of Women Entrepreneurs today. The discussion, taking place at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, is expected to focus on the role of women in Nepal's economic development, promoting women's entrepreneurship, and enhancing their participation in the industrial and business sectors. According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, the talks will primarily address the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, the need for policy reforms, and government measures to create a more supportive business environment. The Federation's delegation, led by President Darshana Shrestha, includes Vice President Mahalaxmi Shrestha, General Secretary Sabita Subedi, Secretary Dikila Sherpa Lama, and Executive Member Anuja Rajbhandari Shrestha. The meeting is regarded as an important step toward advancing women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurial capacity in Nepal. During the discussion, the federation is expected to urge the government to introduce concessional loan facilities, improve tax policies, and provide stronger support for the marketing of domestically produced goods. The meeting also comes as the government has repeatedly pledged to prioritize women's entrepreneurship in its upcoming budget and policy framework, raising expectations that the dialogue could lead to concrete policy outcomes.
