Weather Alert: Rainfall and High-Altitude Snow Projected Across Nepal This Week.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a week-long weather forecast predicting significant precipitation across the country. According to Meteorologist Maharjan, moderate rainfall is expected in several areas of Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces, as well as parts of Gandaki and Lumbini, between Sunday and Tuesday. The intensity is projected to increase from Wednesday to Thursday, with widespread rain likely in Koshi and scattered moderate showers across Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. The hilly and mountainous regions are also expected to see a mix of rain and snow. High-altitude areas in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki will likely experience moderate snowfall throughout the midweek. However, the Department notes that the weather system will begin to weaken toward the end of the week, with a gradual trend toward clearer skies and improved conditions starting Saturday.
