Nepal Government Implements Revised Salary Structure with 10% Incentive Allowance

Nepal's Ministry of Finance has released the revised salary structure and allowance details for government employees, effective from Shrawan 1, 2083 BS, after the Cabinet approved a 10% salary increase and an additional 10% monthly incentive allowance during its meeting on Shrawan 6. The revised pay scale applies to civil servants, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, health service employees, parliamentary service staff, community school teachers, as well as employees working under provincial and local governments. The ministry has directed all government agencies to implement the new salary structure and corresponding payments accordingly. Under the revised pay scale, the Chief Secretary's starting monthly salary has been increased to Rs. 84,932, while a Gazetted Special Class official will receive Rs. 79,290 per month. The salaries of other government officials, including Joint Secretaries, Under Secretaries, Section Officers, Nayab Subbas, Kharidars, and other non-gazetted employees, have also been revised upward. In addition to the salary increase, employees will receive a grade amount equivalent to one day's salary and a 10% monthly incentive allowance calculated on the revised salary. The Ministry of Finance has also published the updated salary schedules for pension purposes and instructed all public offices across the country to implement the revised pay structure.
