NEPSE Drops 36 Points as Market Slips Below 2,620

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) declined sharply by 36.25 points (1.36%) to close at 2,618.03 on Wednesday. The benchmark index had gained 7.06 points in the previous session. NEPSE opened at 2,670.28 and moved between an intraday high of 2,671.04 and a low of 2,613.13 before closing at 2,618.03. Total turnover stood at Rs. 6.35 arba, with 21.62 million shares traded through 57,947 transactions involving 352 companies. Shivam Cements (SHIVM) led the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 38.34 crore, closing at Rs. 687.00. Dhaulagiri Laghubitta (DLBS) was the top gainer, rising 15% to Rs. 1,341.90, while First Micro Finance (FMDBL) recorded the highest decline of 8.54%, closing at Rs. 750.00. Among sectors, the Life Insurance Index posted the biggest decline at 2.04%, while the Mutual Fund Index recorded the smallest loss at 0.15%.
