Rs. 4.60 Arba Investment Secured for 22.50 MW Jaldigad Hydropower Project

A total investment of Rs. 4.60 arba has been secured for the development of the 22.50 MW Jaldigad Hydropower Project in Aathbiskot Municipality, Rukum West. Shangrila Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. is promoting the project. Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal Bank, and Nepal Infrastructure Bank (NIFRA) will jointly provide Rs. 3.36 arba in loans, while the remaining Rs. 1.23 arba will be financed through promoter equity. The financing agreement was signed by Shangrila Hydropower Chairman Khagendra Neupane and Rastriya Banijya Bank CEO Devendra Raman Khanal, with representatives from Nepal Bank and NIFRA also attending the signing. The project is expected to generate 133.45 GWh of electricity annually and has a construction timeline of 33 months. Most preparatory works, including land acquisition, have already been completed. The promoter group has previously developed the 4.55 MW Bikash Hydropower Project in Gorkha, which was completed around six months ahead of schedule. It is also developing the 4.6 MW Budhigandaki Hydropower Project in Gorkha, which is targeted to start power generation within the next six months.
