No Deal Without Results: Trump Threatens Military Action Against Iran

Donald Trump rejects rushing an Iran deal over midterm election pressure, warning Washington is ready for military alternatives.

No Deal Without Results: Trump Threatens Military Action Against Iran

US President Donald Trump has firmly stated that he will not rush into a deal with Iran despite mounting political pressure from the upcoming midterm elections. Speaking at a White House cabinet meeting, President Trump asserted that Iran expects American negotiating leverage to weaken due to electoral timelines, a notion he completely dismissed. Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow progress of current negotiations, the President warned that Washington remains prepared for military alternatives if American demands are not met, noting that Iran's naval and air capabilities have already severely weakened under distress. Concurrently, the White House completely rejected Iranian state media reports concerning a purported draft agreement—which claimed a scheduled withdrawal of US troops from nearby regions and the lifting of a naval blockade on Iranian ports—dismissing the claims as entirely fabricated.
