12-Hour Power Outage Scheduled in Eastern Nepal on Saturday

Electricity supply to be disrupted in Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, and parts of Morang from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM for maintenance works.

12-Hour Power Outage Scheduled in Eastern Nepal on Saturday

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has announced a 12-hour power outage in several districts of eastern Nepal on Saturday, with electricity supply set to remain suspended from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM. According to the authority, the outage will affect the entire districts of Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung, as well as Urlabari, Pathari, and surrounding areas of Morang. The temporary disruption is necessary to facilitate the testing and commissioning of equipment at the Keraun 132/33 kV Substation in Morang and the installation of a dead-end tower between Towers No. 68 and 69 along the Duhabi–Damak 132 kV transmission line. The NEA has urged consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance and apologized for the inconvenience caused by the scheduled maintenance work.
