    NEPSE Gains 15 Points, Index Climbs Above 2,538

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) extended its upward momentum, rising 15.44 points to close at 2,538.11, while hydropower stocks led sectoral gains.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its positive momentum on Wednesday, gaining 15.44 points, or 0.61%, to close at 2,538.11. The benchmark index had also advanced by 9.24 points in the previous trading session, marking its second consecutive day of gains. The index opened at 2,524.23 and fluctuated throughout the session, reaching an intraday high of 2,538.18 and a low of 2,513.35 before settling at 2,538.11. Total turnover stood at Rs. 2.94 Arba, with 7,268,202 shares changing hands through 39,673 transactions involving 354 listed companies. The total market capitalization reached Rs. 43.65 Kharba, while the float market capitalization stood at Rs. 14.72 Kharba. Among individual companies, Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Limited (TAMOR) recorded the highest turnover, with shares worth Rs. 14.17 crore traded during the session. The company’s stock closed at Rs. 504 per share. On the gainers’ side, Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (ULBSL) posted the highest increase, rising 11.87% to hit the upper circuit and close at Rs. 2,790. In contrast, NMB Energy Bond 4% – 2093/94 (NMBUR93/94) registered the steepest decline, falling 5.81% to close at Rs. 941. Sector-wise, the Hydropower Index emerged as the top performer, gaining 0.95%. Meanwhile, the Mutual Fund Index was the only notable sectoral laggard, declining 0.09%.
