Delhi Youth Protest Sends Strong Warning to Modi Government
Thousands of young protesters flooded the streets of New Delhi, turning a month-long student movement into one of the largest demonstrations against the Modi government in recent years, with demands extending beyond education reforms.
Thousands of students and young job aspirants gathered across New Delhi on Monday in a massive protest led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), demanding education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Despite heavy security, road closures, metro restrictions, baton charges, and tear gas, protesters remained at Jantar Mantar throughout the day, highlighting growing frustration over issues including exam paper leaks, unemployment, inflation, and government accountability. Although the government initiated talks with CJP representatives, it did not accept the protesters' key demands. Political observers and activists described the demonstration as one of the largest youth-led protests in recent years, warning that it reflects deep public discontent that could pose a significant challenge to the Modi government if underlying concerns remain unaddressed.
