Leadership Change at Himalayan Bank: Baikuntha Aryal Appointed Chairman

Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) has appointed former Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal as its new Chairman. The bank’s recently held Board of Directors meeting decided to appoint Aryal to the position. Aryal brings extensive experience from Nepal’s public administration sector. During his career in government service, he has held several key responsibilities related to finance, administration and public management. He also served as the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, the highest-ranking position in the civil service. Meanwhile, the bank’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha, who previously served as the chairman of Himalayan Bank. The appointment of Aryal marks a change in the bank’s leadership following Shrestha’s resignation.
