Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged banks and financial institutions to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of banking services in areas affected by the recent natural disasters. The central bank said it is taking necessary steps to restore banking and payment services in the affected areas as soon as possible, including through alternative arrangements where required. NRB has also called on banks and financial institutions to extend necessary financial support for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in disaster-affected communities. The central bank further urged financial institutions to remain committed to safeguarding the safety and well-being of their employees, customers and communities affected by the disasters. It emphasized the need for continued coordination and support to help maintain essential financial services during the crisis.
