Tehrathum Power Reports 288.40% Surge in Net Profit, EPS Rises to Rs. 11.17
Tehrathum Power Company Limited (TPC) has reported a 288.40% year-on-year jump in net profit to Rs. 8.93 crore in Q4 FY 2082/83, supported by higher electricity sales revenue and a sharp decline in finance costs.
Tehrathum Power Company Limited (TPC) has published its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter of FY 2082/83, reporting a significant improvement in profitability compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The company posted a net profit of Rs. 8.93 crore by the end of Ashadh, representing a 288.40% increase from Rs. 2.30 crore recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The strong growth in net profit was mainly driven by higher electricity sales revenue and a substantial reduction in finance costs. During the review period, the company’s electricity sales revenue increased by 17.86% to Rs. 18.26 crore. Similarly, gross profit grew by 24.19%, while operating profit increased by 22.38%. Meanwhile, the company’s finance costs declined significantly by 62.02%, providing further support to the bottom line. The improvement in profitability was also reflected in the company’s earnings per share. EPS increased by Rs. 5.42 to Rs. 11.17 at the end of Q4. The company reported a book value per share of Rs. 130.64, while its P/E ratio stood at 31.25x. Tehrathum Power has a paid-up capital of Rs. 80 crore, while its reserve and surplus stood at Rs. 2.90 crore at the end of the fiscal year. Notably, the company had reported a negative reserve of Rs. 15.41 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, indicating a significant improvement in its financial position.
