Flood-Injured Victims Begin Returning Home After Successful Treatment

People injured in the devastating floods and landslides along the BhoteKoshi and Trishuli rivers in Rasuwa have begun returning home after receiving treatment at hospitals in Kathmandu. According to the latest details released by the Kathmandu District Emergency Operations Centre, many of the injured patients admitted to hospitals including Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, National Trauma Center and Nepal Medical College began being discharged from October 12 after their health conditions improved. In particular, injured people from Rasuwa receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital have shown significant improvement in their health. Those affected by the disaster include farmers, students, drivers, homemakers and security personnel who were on duty when the disaster struck. Many of the injured were rescued from different locations in Rasuwa and Nuwakot by helicopters and ambulances and brought to Kathmandu for treatment. Some injured personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force remain under medical care, while others have already been discharged. Authorities said detailed information regarding the identities and health conditions of the injured has been provided to the concerned agencies.
