Rasuwa Flood Shock Sends Hydropower Stocks Into a Steep Slide

Rasuwa’s sudden flood has triggered sharp selling in hydropower stocks on NEPSE after reports of damage to major hydropower projects and transmission infrastructure. Rasuwagadhi Hydropower (RHPL) led the decline, falling 13.84% to Rs. 208, followed by Chilime Hydropower (CHCL), down 10.33% to Rs. 426. Trishuli Jal Vidhyut (TVCL), Sanjen Hydropower (SJCL), Upper Mailung Khola (MMKJL), and Mailung Khola (MKJC) also recorded significant losses. However, the long-term impact remains uncertain until the actual extent of damage, restoration timeline, and financial consequences are assessed.
