Transport Federation Warns Against Overcharging During Dashain Travel
Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs’ National Federation has urged transport operators not to charge passengers more than the government-approved fares during the Dashain travel season, warning that violators will face action.
Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs’ National Federation has urged all transport operators to strictly follow government-approved fares during the Dashain travel season and warned that vehicles charging passengers more than the prescribed rates will face action. Advance ticket booking for Dashain travel will open nationwide from Ashoj 23, with transport authorities, traffic police, transport workers, and business representatives coordinating to make travel safer and more organized. To manage the festival rush, large vehicles including trailers will be restricted on the Narayangadh–Kathmandu road from Ghatasthapana to Kartik 8, while long- and medium-route permits for passenger vehicles will remain open until Kartik 10. Passenger assistance desks will operate at major Kathmandu Valley entry points, and free vehicle fitness testing will also be conducted at Gongabu Bus Park to ensure safer public transportation during the festive period.
