Nepal Rastra Bank has removed regular transaction limits for digital payments made to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

NRB Waives Transaction Limits for Disaster Relief Fund Donations

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has allowed payments through mobile banking, web applications, and electronic wallets to accounts linked to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and Prime Minister’s Relief Fund without the usual transaction limits. According to the NRB’s Payment Systems Department, the decision was taken to facilitate financial support being collected for citizens affected by floods and landslides across the country. Payment service providers and other authorized institutions have been instructed to make the necessary arrangements to implement the provision. The move is expected to make it easier for individuals and organizations to contribute financial assistance directly to the designated government relief funds.
