Government Recommends Three Ordinances, Orders Action Against 1,167 Employees for Rule Violations

The government has recommended three ordinances related to land, disaster management, and forest laws for presidential issuance while directing action against 1,167 employees for failing to follow office hours or wear prescribed uniforms. It has also announced tighter market and transport monitoring ahead of the festive season.

The government has recommended three ordinances concerning land, disaster management, and forest laws for issuance by the President while Parliament is not in session. According to the weekly press briefing of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, authorities have also been directed to take action against 1,167 employees, including 1,132 who failed to follow office hours and 35 who did not wear prescribed uniforms. Ahead of the festive season, the government has instructed concerned agencies to ensure smooth supplies of essential goods and take action against black marketing, artificial shortages, and unreasonable price hikes. Strict monitoring will also target transport operators charging excessive fares, carrying passengers beyond capacity, and driving under the influence of alcohol. Meanwhile, Rs. 17.30 billion has been collected in the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund, with Rs. 1 billion released to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The government has also initiated measures to implement rehabilitation support for Gen-Z movement victims and upgrade nine digital systems to improve public services.
