Government to Provide Rs 1.5 Billion in Grants to Sugarcane Farmers

The government is preparing to provide Rs 1.5 billion in grant assistance to sugarcane farmers as an incentive to support sugarcane production. Minister for Agriculture, Forest, and Environment Geeta Chaudhary approved the procedures for distributing the grants on Thursday, according to the minister's personal secretariat. According to the ministry, the grant assistance will be distributed to sugarcane-producing farmers in four districts: Bardiya, Rautahat, Kailali, and Kanchanpur. The government has been providing sugarcane farmers with an annual subsidy of Rs. 70 per quintal of sugarcane produced. The latest grant initiative is aimed at providing financial support to farmers and encouraging sugarcane production in the designated districts.
